If you pay enough attention to the keto/ketovore/carnivore social media space, especially folks talking about cholesterol, you'll very frequently find claims that hospitals and doctors and those involved in the health care system only want your money. They don't want to heal you, they want you paying for drugs for the rest of your days. A nice narrative to pitch, to be sure, and not without some nuggets of truth either. However, I do not believe that's 100% of the case. The system still has to follow the federal guidelines or risk a lot of legal and financial problems. There is also the actual unfortunate fact that there is a LOT of money in the proverbial "legal drug peddling" space around personal health. Doctors and practitioners do have to follow the guidelines of the places they work at or else they face their own legal troubles.
